The best home saunas, ranked by what the maker publishes
This page compares 3 home sauna makers on what their own storefronts tell you. It compares what they make, what a sauna costs, and whether they publish the price at all. No maker paid to be here. No link on this page earns us anything.
By The Sauna Index research deskUpdated The specifications come from the published material of the makerHow we read a price
This page links out to sellers. We plan to earn a commission on links like these, and no link on this page earns us one today. It does not change what we recommend. How we make money.
Someone with a commercial position on the answer wrote every other list of home saunas. This page records the affiliate programme status of every maker on its own page, and you can see ours. At this date we are in no programme, and we earn nothing from any maker below.
We rank on what the maker publishes about its own products. That means the range it makes, the prices it publishes, and where it will sell to you. Where a maker publishes nothing, we record a gap. We do not fill it with an estimate.

The makers we rank, and why
1Best overall, on published prices
Redwood Outdoors
Redwood Outdoors is the only maker here that publishes a price for every model it sells.
The range covers a 2-person indoor alcove up to an 8-person outdoor cabin. An open price is not a tie-breaker in this category. It is the exception.

3Infrared cabins, price on request
Sunlighten
Most buyers already know Sunlighten, and it has the largest seller network and support network.
It is third here for one reason: it publishes no cabin price anywhere. Therefore you cannot compare it with the other 2 makers without a sales conversation.
Does not publish a cabin price. Quote only.
The only figures it publishes cover red light panels and portable saunas, and not cabins. We read this on Aug 31, 2026 at ui.awin.com.

Questions buyers ask
Is infrared or traditional better for a home sauna?
They are different products. A traditional sauna heats the air, runs at 70 to 90°C, and makes steam when you pour water on the stones. An infrared cabin heats you directly, runs much cooler, and makes no steam. Choose the experience you want.
Why is there no price for Sunlighten?
Sunlighten does not publish one. Its cabins are sold on a quote. The only public figures are average sale amounts for panels and portable saunas. We do not give a price that a maker does not publish.
Do you earn a commission on these links?
No. There are no affiliate links on this page or on the maker pages it links to. We record the affiliate programme status of each maker as a fact about that maker. It explains who else has a reason to rank it.
Saunas under $5,000
