Steam rooms: what we read, and what no maker here publishes

We hold no steam room price. That is the finding, and it is the reason this page is short.

We read the storefront of every maker in this record. All 9 of them sell saunas. None of them sells a steam room, and none of them publishes a steam room price. So there is no market here for us to record, and we will not build one out of guesses.

This page names what we read, the date we read it, and what we found instead. Then it points you at the categories where we do hold published figures.

What we read, and what we did not find

The record holds 9 makers: Almost Heaven, Clearlight, HigherDOSE, Plunge, Redwood Outdoors, SaunaSpace, Sun Home Saunas, Sunlighten and Therasage. We read a storefront collection or a price page for each one between 2026-08-28 and 2026-09-02. Every maker page on this site carries its own read date and its own source URL.

Across those collections we found infrared cabins, traditional cabins with a stone heater, outdoor barrels, and 1 fabric tent on a frame. We found no steam room, no steam generator and no steam shower. Sun Home Saunas publishes the widest line we hold, and it stops at saunas. Clearlight publishes its prices on 1 page, and every model on it is an infrared cabin.

We do not go outside this record to fill a gap. A figure we cannot trace to a maker page is a figure we will not print.

A steam room is not a sauna

The 2 rooms sound alike and they are not alike. A sauna runs hot and dry. A stove heats stones, and a bather throws water on the stones for a short burst of steam. Redwood Outdoors states a wood-fired stove or an electric stove for its outdoor saunas.

A steam room runs cooler and wet. A generator boils water outside the room and pushes vapour into it. The room has to hold that vapour, so it needs a sealed lining and a drain. A wooden cabin does neither job.

That is why the makers here do not sell one. The 2 products share a shelf in a magazine and share almost nothing in a build.

Why the price would differ

We can say what the difference costs only where a maker publishes a figure, and none does. So we will say what we can support and stop there.

A sauna in this record arrives as a kit or as a cabin, and the maker publishes 1 price for the thing in the crate. A steam room is fitted work: a lined enclosure, a generator and a drain. A fitter quotes that work, and a quote is not a published price. Our whole method reads published prices, so the category falls outside what this site can measure today.
